Communications projects
Tomorrow our communications projects are due! I'm really excited to hear about the input of other people and how they developed their own products! What do you think?
Field trips
Now that we finally were able to visit Firmenich, I can reflect upon the two field trips we went on this NJIT year. Although Firmenich was way cooler than Covanta, I think we gained an understanding of two different aspects of chemical engineering by going on these two field trips. I mean in one field trip we visited a garbage plant that churned renewable energy from waste and in the other field trip we got to see how fragrances and flavors were in infused in different products. How many times do we get the opportunity to do that? I truly believed that these two field trips really added to our knowledge of chemical engineering. What do you think?

Smear proof lipstick (vociferous Valentina)
I have always had the problem with smeared lip-stick. Please I do not need smears, special occasions come very often. Now I imagine a life where I wouldn't have to worry about my lipstick. I actually work as a dermatologist's assistant. I had at first I wanted to be a doctor ,but I took the dermatologist's assistant job. I found out that that wasn't the career for me so I started working for Standard Oil, you may better know it as the Exxon gasoline company. During the nights I started working with lipsticks I invented a smear proof lipstick. I began the Hazel Bishop cosmetics selling 10 million dollars annually . Later my company was bought . During the 80's I began working as the Revlon chair of Cosmetics marketing at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Thoughts about the school lunch??- Victorious Victoria
Personally, I think the lunches at njit should be changed. Seriously:( not good. Have you tried the pizza? Yea not so tasty. Although some foods are really good. Like the chicken and baked ziti. So pretty much I'm so-so with the lunches. Just needs minor changes. Comment if you agree. :)
National njit day!!!!!!!!!!! (Victorious Victoria)

WhiteWig=1st Prez!!!
Hey there. I am the founding father of this beautiful nation. I am also very bra- WHAT? How come no one else is wearing white wigs on their head? Isn't that the trend? No? Well, what is the trend? All i see is people talking in a rectangular thing by their ear and they aren't wearing anything special just a shirt, pant, and shoes. Why are people riding small carriage when they are no horses pulling them forward? How is this all possible when i was a kid, we had to play outside with Rugby or play with marbles. All the kids are on a cube games. it says Xbox...360 and another one says....Wii! This is too crazy for me. i need to go home. Bye!

Sulfuric Acid and Ammonia
In chemical engineering we recently worked with two very dangerous chemicals-sulfuric acid and ammonia- in our latest experiment. Once one of my lab partners brushed her test tube which had been dipped in sulfuric acid against my skin really lightly and my skin started to burn and shed a little. Lets just say that I never want to be near those chemicals ever again!
Firmenich Tour -Glamorous Gaby

Review on the Trip.....
So....personally the trip was really horrible to me. Like it was sorta cool I guess, but it just smelled really disgusting and nauseating. I remember when we were going to the tipping place, (I'm not exaggerating when I say this), but I gagged. The cool part was the claw thing. Anyways, I'm grateful that that is over with, and that Firmenich is next. Isn't it ironic how Firmenich and Covanta are the exact opposite in smell? :p

SLIME!!!!-Marvelous Michelle
Today we made slime in chemical engineering. We mixed certain chemicals and added food coloring and after mixing, eventually got a slimy mixture. It was REALLY messy and there was food coloring everywhere. Would you make it again if you could???

Why this program was created

Do you know why this program was created. Its not a summer school, its a pre-college program. The Center for Pre-College Programs was established in 1978 in order to increase access to scientific and technological fields among the younger population. The courses at NJIT are designed for high achieving students from grade 5 to high school that are eager to get a jump start on their possible college careers. The Center for Pre-College Programs annually serves more than 3,000 elementary and secondary students and their teachers in a variety of programs. Participants do different courses each years and in either femme or co-ed classes. It is a programs that is 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday) that runs for 5 weeks.
